TYHDO is a community of youth health advocates, health care workers including laboratory scientists, pharmacists, nurses, doctors, and other young leaders from diverse backgrounds, united in our commitment to advancing health education, community engagement, research and advocacy across Tanzania. We believe in the power of youth to drive positive change in health outcomes through collaborative partnerships, innovative programs, and grassroots mobilization. TYHDO is committed to building a healthier, more equitable future for all Tanzanian youth.
Our organization is structured around five key clusters, each addressing critical health issues facing our communities:
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and HIV/AIDS:
Ensuring zero new HIV infections and access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services and rights
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs):
Combating neglected diseases and raising awareness to eliminate their burden on vulnerable populations.
Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs):
Promoting prevention, early detection, and management of NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer.
Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR):
Addressing the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance through advocacy and education on responsible antibiotic use.
Research and Consultation:
Facilitating youth-led research initiatives and providing platforms for youth voices to inform health policies and programs.
